Craft Demonstrator
Canterbury Shaker Village, Canterbury, NH
Canterbury Shaker Village is seeking volunteers to join our cadre of craft demonstrators! These artisans bring the Village to life during the summer by practicing their trades within the historic buildings where the Shakers once lived and worked. Existing trades practiced in the Village include oval box making, letterpress printing, broom making, sewing, spinning, weaving, rug braiding, rug hooking, and poplarware weaving . . . and we’re always looking to expand the scope of our trades to include other industries practiced by the Shakers. Canterbury Shaker Village is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, mid-May through October each year. Prospective volunteers should be able to commit to at least 2 days per month during the season; scheduling and hours can be adjusted to suit individual availability. Benefits include membership eligibility (based on volunteer hours), museum discounts, and invitations to volunteer appreciation events. For more information or to request a volunteer application, please contact Becky Soules, Daily Visitor & Youth Programs Manager, at rsoules@shakers.org. Posted on: 04/20/2016
