You’re an innovator who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, balancing interactions with people with in-depth research that supports the mission of the Museum. You dig into the why and how leading projects from conception to successful completion/launch, making connections between internal and external audiences. You know how to have fun, put people at ease, and you don’t take yourself too seriously. Last, but not least, you understand – or want to learn- that membership is more than just raising money; it’s about fostering relationships and creating sustainable impact.

What You’ll Do
You’ll research how popular for-profit companies attract a fiercely loyal customer base and how to promote that loyalty in a museum (non-profit) setting. You’ll provide insight and research into how Gen X and Gen Y spend their free time and allocate resources, what they want in cultural experiences, and how museums can have a positive impact on their life. Your recommendations will inform how the Museum can better serve current and future audience needs, growing in particular, a young professional audience.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Research membership offerings at other successful and inventive non-profits and business models of popular for-profit companies
  • Engage with members and Museum visitors by shadowing frontline staff/Membership Assistant during regular business hours or at events
  • Support member service operations and community initiatives, including administrative tasks and marketing communications
  • Learn Raiser’s Edge and assist database-related projects

? Adept at learning and using technology
? Proven ability to conduct meaningful research and communicate effectively
? Demonstrates an understanding of which trends prove attractive to today’s audiences
