The Harvard Art Museums is accepting applications for the position of Communications Intern. The intern will support marketing and public relations efforts within the division of Communications. Tasks shall include reading, clipping, and compiling of all Art Museums-related press; organizing and archiving press files; assisting in the distribution of promotional materials; assisting with social media efforts; and maintaining the communications database. The internships will run May-August 2016. Deadline for Applications is May 1, 2016. This is an unpaid internship and the applicant must receive academic credit for the internship to be considered. We will need to receive a signed letter from your advisor or college on letterhead as proof of academic credit. The Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library in Lexington, Massachusetts, is seeking an unpaid intern for Summer/Fall 2016. The Museum is an American history museum founded and supported by Scottish Rite Freemasons in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America. The internship will focus on work related to an ongoing digitization project (inventorying, numbering, cataloguing, data entry, and scanning) and supporting social media projects as they relate to online collections. Other projects may include assistance with online exhibitions, and research and writing about specific objects. Prospective interns should be undergraduate or graduate students with a background in history, American studies, museum studies, decorative arts, art history or a related field. Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and technical proficiency are necessary. A commitment of 10 to 12 weeks is required.
