Prof. Nair is a Significant Impact on a graduating undergraduate! (Sept 11)
Each year, graduating seniors are given the opportunity to identify up to three faculty, administrators, or staff members from Tufts who have had a major impact on their undergraduate experience.
“Professor Nair was the PI for the lab that I worked in, and while we did not have that much personal interaction, he made sure that I was fully included in lab events and meetings. Working in the lab has been one of the more influential experiences I’ve had at Tufts.”

New manuscript in collaboration with the Hassoun group! (Sept 2)
We have a new manuscript out with the Hassoun group. It described MDFlow, a computational tool to assess the effect of enzyme promiscuity on cellular engineering. (tweet, bioRxiv).

New academic year, a new title (Sept 1)
Prof. Nair starts off the new academic year as an associate professor with tenure (tweet).

Karishma leaves the group and returns home (Aug 31)
After the long lockdown, post-doc Karishma Mohan is finally able to return home to her family. A bittersweet moment for the lab. Good luck to her in the next stage of her career!

Bruno’s manuscript is accepted for publication! (Aug 20)
The paper will appear soon in Metabolic Engineering Communications as part of a special edition called “Development of Chassis Microorganisms for Bioproduction”. Link to the special issue and the paper.

Zac leaves the lab as Dr. Mays for a real job! (Aug 14)
Congratulations, Zac for accepting a job as Organism Engineer at Ginkgo Bioworks! He is the 3rd Nair lab graduate to join Gingko after Joe Bober and Brett Irwin (tweet).
