Call for Submissions
PRAXIS, the Journal of Human Security at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, collects articles from a wide geographic and disciplinary range of practitioners and academics to stimulate productive dialogue in the field of human security.
All submissions must be original, unpublished work. If an article is accepted for publication with Praxis, authors must withdraw their articles for consideration from other journals. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at praxis.fletcherschool@gmail.com.

Submissions for the Spring 2026 Special Edition
We are proud to announce our Spring 2026 Edition, focusing on the vital and evolving intersection of Human Security and International Development. This issue serves as both a tribute to Praxis’s foundational focus on development studies and a timely exploration of how global challenges threaten well-being and progress. We seek compelling analyses that approach this intersection through diverse lenses, including global governance, technology, sustainable development, and any other topics highlighting the intersection between human security and international development.
The guidelines for submission to our Spring 2026 Special Edition are below:
- Submissions must be 1200-1500 words
- Citations must be in the form of endnotes, aligned with The Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition) – it is the responsibility of author(s) to ensure links are both accurate and accessible, although our editorial team will provide support if needed
- The topic of the submission must align with the edition’s theme of Human Security and International Development
- For the purposes of submission, please submit a short summary of the focus of your piece (150-200 words) and an electronic copy of your piece to praxis.fletcherschool@gmail.com
Submissions for Monthly Web Edition
We invite you to send a short piece (op-ed, interview, book review, case study, photo-journalism, etc.) for publication in the Praxis Web Edition. Submissions are accepted year-round and published on a rolling basis. The guidelines for submission to our Monthly Web Edition are below:
- Written submissions must be 800-1500 words
- Interview submissions should be conducted with academics, practitioners, or experts on subjects related to human security. Transcripts must be 1000-1500 words. The individual submitting the interview should be the one who conducted the interview
- Photographs and other graphics must be submitted as TIFF, JPEG, or PNG files. Authors must have permission to use graphics on Praxis’s Monthly Web Edition. If applicable, licensing information must also be included
- All citations should be in the form of hyperlinks – it is the responsibility of author(s) to ensure links are both accurate and accessible, although our editorial team will provide support if needed
- Please submit an electronic copy to praxis.fletcherschool@gmail.com
Student Research Submissions
Students are also encouraged to submit research in the form of a thesis, capstone project, or dissertation. The topic should be related to human security, and we ask that you submit a shortened version for publication on our website. In some cases, we may consider publishing the abstract or introduction to your research and including a link to the full piece. The guidelines for the submission of student research are below:
- Website submissions should be 1200-1500 words
- Citations for the website submissions must be in the form of hyperlinks – it is the responsibility of author(s) to ensure links are both accurate and accessible, although our editorial team will provide support if needed
- For the purpose of submission, please submit a short summary of your research (150-200 words), an electronic copy of the website submission, and an electronic copy of your research (in the form of a thesis, capstone, or dissertation) to praxis.fletcherschool@gmail.com
