Student Involvement

For Fletcher School students interested in the work of SovereigNet, there are plenty of ways to get involved!

STUDENT AFFILIATE PROGRAM

Are you interested in global finance, sovereign and public investment, or private equity?  Perhaps you are intrigued by the role of governments and markets in financing national development?  Or… are you pursuing a career in finance and interested in exploring where and how the public and private sectors meet?

In December 2017, we launched a Student Affiliate Program open exclusively to Fletcher students. This new program offers the opportunity to engage with a global community of scholars and practitioners, to contribute research, and to support both self-initiated and institutional programming on sovereign and public investment. Are you doing research on project finance, development finance, sustainability, social investment, or political risk? Consider joining us to explore some the outer reaches of your research and interests.

CFA CHALLENGE

The CFA Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Fletcher’s inaugural team in the challenge consisted of four Fletcher students, Chris DunnBraden WeinstockDavid Vercoutere, and Drew Zoller. Under the guidance of a faculty adviser and industry mentor — SovereigNet Co-Head Patrick Schena and Affiliate Vitaly Veksler, respectively — the team advanced through the opening stages and into the presentation round of the challenge.

Fletcher Political Risk Group

Founded in 2008, the Fletcher Political Risk Group (FPRG) is a graduate student-run organization at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. FPRG is focused on facilitating discussion and fostering links among students, alumni, and professionals with career and academic interests in political risk as it applies to finance, consulting, business intelligence, and business strategy & operations.

FSIG (Fletcher Social Investment Group)

The Fletcher Social Investment Group (FSIG) is a student-run organization dedicated to the study and practice of impact investing. FSIG’s vision is to empower the next generation of leaders in social investment to innovate and manage effective investment platforms that yield balanced social and financial returns.
