Consultant, Forest Stewardship Council, Germany

The Forest Stewardship Council is seeking a consultant to explore the feasibility of carbon storage as a High Conservation Value. In 2011, the General Assembly requested FSC to explore the feasibility and wider implications of including natural ecosystems with globally, regionally and/or nationally significant amounts of carbon stored in vegetation and soil as a High Conservation Value. In order to implement this motion, the PSU Ecosystem Services program is now seeking a consultant that will provide recommendations on the different options available to identify, monitor and assess High Carbon Density forests in accordance with FSC Principle 9. Short-term Consultancies, World Agroforestry Center (Multiple locations)

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is an independent research institution, which generates science- based knowledge about the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. Main purpose of the positions are to establish the definitive database on the impact of field-level agricultural practices on food production, adaptive capacity, and climate change mitigation (i.e., climate-smart agriculture). The Consultant team containing approximately six members will work together to find, compile and analyze research on climate-smart agriculture. This will require literature search, evaluation, and data extraction and will yield both a terrain map of the available information and a database of evidence.
