Member Support Fellow, Food Recovery Network

Food Recovery Network unites students on college campuses to fight waste and feed people by donating the surplus unsold food from their colleges and donating it to hungry Americans. Made up of 41 colleges and universities, FRN has recovered over 222,000 pounds of food and is rapidly expanding. The mission of FRN Member Support is to provide resources and advice to official FRN chapters to expand their capacity and impact, and to increase visibility on campus, in their communities, and on a national level.

GIS Teaching Fellowships, Middlebury College (VT)

The Geography Department at Middlebury College invites applicants for its GIS Teaching Fellows Program, designed to encourage the expansion of GIS instruction across the liberal arts curriculum. We seek recent doctoral recipients or advanced ABD candidates from any academic discipline who have applied GIS in their doctoral research and have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. Middlebury’s GIS Teaching Fellows will be appointed to a nine-month term, to begin in September 2014. In the fall semester, Fellows will assist Geography Department faculty in teaching the department’s Fundamentals of GIS course. Learn more.

Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellows

The Environmental Defense Fund is now accepting applications for the EDF Climate Corps through their 2014 Fellow Online Application Portal. This program places top-tier graduate students in companies, cities, and universities to build and deliver customized energy management strategies and solutions. Working directly with staff from operations, finance and sustainability departments, the EDF Climate Corps fellows spend 10-12 weeks as energy problem solvers and organizational change agents.

Along with many other benefits such as training and professional development opportunities, fellows are paid $1,250 per week and are reimbursed for certain travel expenses. EDF plans to recruit 120 fellows and anticipates receiving over 700 applications. Post Doctoral Fellow (Various locations)

CIFOR, BOGOR (INDONESIA), B. LIMA (PERU) AND C. NAIROBI (KENYA)

The Tenure Post Doctoral Fellows will be part of a core team responsible for implementing a multi-country research and action program examining the impact of forest tenure reforms in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Under the supervision of a senior scientist and a principal scientist, the three postdoctoral fellows will participate in a program that seeks to analyze the success or failure in the practice of policy and institutional innovations to provide more secure rights to forest resources, and to identify conditions under which national or local policy implementation leads to desired outcomes. Environmental Sustainability Fellow (Oberlin, OH)

Oberlin is seeking a recent college graduate who is well organized and a self-starter to serve as Environmental Sustainability Fellow. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Sustainability and Energy Management and will work to engage the Oberlin community in promoting sustainability and raising awareness of the College’s environmental commitments and accomplishments. This is a full-time, two-year Administrative and Professional staff position.

Responsibilities: The Fellow will interact with students, faculty, staff, and the administration, and will be instrumental in focusing attention on ways to maximize the environmental performance of Oberlin College. The Fellow will reach out to the campus and wider community and provide a connection between Oberlin and regional and national activities. The Fellow will serve as the primary support staff for the Committee on Environmental Sustainability (CES) and will work with the Committee and the Director of Sustainability and Energy Management to facilitate the implementation of the College’s comprehensive environmental policy, in line with the College’s strategic goal of sustainability and commitment to carbon neutrality.
