Assistant Director of Sustainability/Farm Manager, Depauw University (Indiana)

Sustainability is both an institutional commitment and a community value, exercised daily as DePauw University pursues our commitment to carbon neutrality by 2040. The Office for Sustainability seeks an individual to work with the Sustainability Director to lead day-to-day activities of the Sustainability program at DePauw. We are seeking a thoughtful, reflective individual with an understanding of the urgency of anthropogenic climate disruption and a passion for sustainable solutions that support our education mission. This position will report to and work closely with DePauw’s Sustainability Director; and will engage and empower our campus and community toward becoming more socially, economically, and environmentally just.

This individual will also manage and work on the one-acre campus farm, primarily from May to September. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to planting plants, weeding, trimming, cleaning, keeping all records for the campus farm, making plans to expand the farm, and interfacing with Bon Appetit, local food pantries, and other interested parties.

Project Coordinator for the Integrated Program in Sustainability, Earlham College (IN)

Earlham College invites applications for a combined teaching faculty and administrative position as the Project Coordinator for a new college-wide initiative — the Integrated Program in Sustainability. This is a one-year, renewable up to three-year, full-time appointment. The position begins in August 2014 and operates on a nine-month, academic calendar.

Earlham seeks an individual to help coordinate an innovative curricular and experiential program in Sustainability working collaboratively with the new Center for Integrated Learning and our interdisciplinary academic programs in Environmental Science and Environmental Studies. The College is seeking someone who is first and foremost excited about teaching as well as someone who can work effectively across disciplines and in an experiential context at a nationally ranked small liberal arts college.

Sustainability Coordinator, Butler University (Indianapolis)

The Center for Urban Ecology (CUE) at Butler University invites applications for Butler’s first Sustainability Coordinator. We seek applicants who share our passion for creative solutions to issues related to campus sustainability, urban ecology, and sustainable cities. Butler University is a recent signatory of the American Colleges and Universities Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) and is looking to build upon this signing to develop innovative and robust sustainability programming for Butler’s campus, viewing the campus as a living laboratory for these programs. Butler’s Sustainability Coordinator will develop and oversee sustainability programming for faculty, staff and students of Butler University and promote Butler’s campus sustainability to local, regional and national audiences. This position reports to the director of the Center for Urban Ecology and will work closely with Butler’s existing Sustainability Council, students, faculty and staff to help develop and execute the University’s sustainability program.
