Job Description The role of the Communications Intern is primarily to assist the Office of Sustainability Marketing team in implementing its marketing and outreach initiatives. Among the responsibilities of the intern are: – Produce content for the various communications channels (online and traditional) – Update the website, blog, Facebook, newsletter and Twitter feed – Assist in organizing events – Create and update materials such as brochures, newsletters, posters, flyers, signs, etc. – Design layouts for both print and online communications – Take and edit photographs as needed
Job Requirements Students with Work Study preferred. The Communications Intern should ideally possess the following characteristics: – Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to work independently and/or within a team – Basic writing, editing and interviewing skills – Graphic design proficiency in Adobe Design Creative Suite, especially Adobe InDesign and Illustrator – Creativity and an eye for good design – Familiarity with online tools such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter and Thinwire (content management tool for websites) preferred, but not required – Basic HTML & CSS skills proficiency preferred, but not required Candidates who provide a portfolio of work/design samples will be given priority.

Transportation Planning Intern (Cambridge, MA)

Internship, Congress for the New Urbanism (Boston)

–CNUNE is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to help the Executive Committee fundraise an additional $15,000 for its annual operating budget. Mass Clean Energy Center Intern (MA)

MassCEC is now accepting applications for the fall session of the 2013 Massachusetts Clean Energy Center Internship Program. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Opportunity Program is a workforce development initiative offered through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) that focuses on enhancing the talent pipeline for Massachusetts companies engaged in the clean energy industry. The program provides paid internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates at Massachusetts-based clean energy companies. For the fall session, MassCEC will provide Massachusetts-based clean energy companies with stipends of up to $12 per hour for up to 10 weeks for each full-time intern, with a cap of $2,400 per intern. GIS Intern, Cape Cod National Seashore (Wellfleet, MA)

Cape Cod National Seashore was authorized by Congress in 1961 as a unit of the National Park Service (NPS). The Park preserves approximately 44,600 acres of upland, wetland, tidal lands, and near shore waters located on Outer Cape Cod. As reflected in the Seashore’s General Management Plan, this unit of the NPS was established, in large part, to protect the area’s outstanding natural resources, including federal and state listed sensitive species.

Aramark + Student Conservation Association Paid Internships (various locations)

Position Description

Interns contribute to multiple aspects of SR Inc’s business from database management to content delivery to client process research on topics within the Sustainable Business & Enterprise Roundtable (SBER) research agenda.

SBER Research and Executive Guidance is based on Member-Client interviews, case studies, secondary resources, and discussions with sector experts and vendors. Research reports always include actionable guidance for executives who manage real estate portfolios. The published reports are continuously enhanced through Member-Client feedback; they are updated regularly as market conditions, technologies, and practices evolve. Research findings are presented at Client meetings throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Perform secondary research and analysis on an array of topics relating to management best practices in greater sustainability in real estate portfolios.
  • Contribute to written reports, briefings, and advisories for Members-Clients.
  • Track existing and anticipated government policies and regulations, including financial incentives, related to sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Junior, senior, or recent college graduate.
  • Individuals with an course work in architecture, building science, mechanical engineering, real estate, environmental science, energy, or urban planning, with a focus on sustainability preferred.

Requirements

  • Experience in business or academic research, preferably in a field related to sustainability.
  • A developed interest in the key global sustainability issues and major sustainability initiatives by the private, nonprofit, and public sectors both in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Excellent and written communication skills.
  • The ability to efficiently contribute to publication quality written documents.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint.
