Open Positions

We are currently recruiting postdocs and senior research scientists with strong backgrounds in quantitative science or engineering and experimental biology. Our current open positions as of January 2022 are as follows:


Postdoctoral Scholars (Quantitative Biology, Mathematical Modeling, Drug Regimen Design, Mycobacteriology, Machine Learning)

We are a multidisciplinary research team, integrating quantitative measurement with computational modeling and analysis to create intuitive descriptions of complex cell biology. We focus our studies on (1) engineering combination therapy, (2) characterizing single-cell determinants of mycobacterial virulence and drug tolerance, and (3) understanding how growth heterogeneity is controlled. Candidates with strong backgrounds in quantitative science or engineering and experimental biology are encouraged to email Bree with a CV, cover letter, and references.

Research Assistant (Quantitative Cell Biology, Mycobacteriology, Microscopy)

We are recruiting a research assistant to work in a team-oriented environment on our research projects, which focus on using quantitative biology and understanding of bacterial cell physiology to improve treatment for tuberculosis. The research assistant will conduct a variety of experiments using a variety of skills, which may include culturing bacterial and mammalian cells, performing fixed-cell and live-cell microscopy, making mesoscale and high-throughput measurements and using microfluidic devices and quantitative image analysis.  The strongest candidates will have computer programming and quantitative analysis skills.


Research Assistant (Mathematical Modeling, Drug Development, Data Analysis, Machine Learning)

A major component of our group’s research is to develop and apply mathematical modeling and data analytical approaches to interpret quantitative single cell data and drug response data. We are looking for a research assistant to work in a team-oriented environment to design and implement modeling and data analysis approaches such as machine learning with applications to improving tuberculosis therapies.


Senior Research Assistant (Mathematical Modeling, Drug Development, Data Analysis, Machine Learning)

A major component of our group’s research is to develop and apply mathematical modeling and data analytical approaches to interpret quantitative single cell data and drug response data. We are looking for a senior research assistant to work and help lead research in a team-oriented environment with applications to improving tuberculosis therapies. In this role, the senior research associate will plan, organize, and conduct research project(s), including designing, testing, and evaluating methodologies and protocols.  They will analyze and organize data and data collection systems, interpret and summarize results, and write materials for publication and presentation.  They will also manage laboratory analysis operations, including oversight of coding practices, mathematical modeling, and rigor of analysis, and will train and supervise laboratory staff and evaluate work.  


Core Deputy Director (Combination Therapies, Drug Discovery, Customer Focus)

We are seeking a talented scientist to manage the new Tufts Combination Therapy Design Center. The Deputy Director will design and implement combination therapy studies as a fee-for-service for commercial and academic partners, and work to develop a dedicated core facility.
