ASDA Week of Service Social Media Challenge
Every year, ASDA celebrates its commitment to community service and outreach. This year’s theme is “Renewing our Reach.” ASDA looks forward to reconnecting and re-establishing connections with our communities.
This week, ASDA challenges the TUSDM community to get involved in the Boston community through various service opportunities listed below. They can’t wait to see how you decide to lend a helping hand. Be sure to post and tag #TuftsASDA, #ASDAWeekof Service after each act of service. Each post will be a raffle entry for your chance to win a gift card! Winners will be announced next week.

NECHV Donation Bingo
The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) is a community-based organization located in downtown Boston. NECHV provides resources to veterans facing life difficulties, especially those who face or are at-risk of homelessness, to promote long-term self-sufficiency.
The NECHV Committee provides oral health screenings, increased access to dental care, and free dental care products for vulnerable veterans. Please help us raise money to continue our efforts in supporting this community. Tag @tuftsasda in your stories/posts to enter a raffle for a chance to win a $25 gift card. Virtual Debate Volunteers
ASDA’s Virtual Service Committee is working on collaborating with Boston Debate League again for upcoming volunteer events. They are shorter (1-2 hour) virtual debate scrimmages in need of volunteers. It’s a great way to help Boston public school kids build confidence and gain public speaking skills so if anyone wants to get involved with this let me know as well!

Virtual Volunteers for Telehealth Screenings
Volunteers are needed for the telehealth sessions for Tuesday, January 18th. Ideally, 2 of the volunteers should be 3rd or 4th year students for the Boston Living Center.
Victory Programs’ Boston Living Center (BLC) is a nonprofit community and resource center that fosters the wellness of individuals living with chronic health conditions including and beyond HIV, people who are experiencing housing and/or food insecurity, and those who are isolated.

Meal Prep Volunteers
Sign up to help make meals at Community Servings. The organization’s mission is to “provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families”. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated and wear a face mask when inside our building. Required attire includes pants covering the ankles, long-sleeve shirts, and close-toed shoes. Hairnets and aprons will be provided.

Support Local Nonprofits
Grab a hot cup a coffee and support local nonprofits at the same time at The Well Coffee House. The Well is located at 212 Washington St. Boston, MA. A portion of the monies from The Well Coffee Houses will be shared in meaningful ways with the communities they serve. This month they will be giving back to Hospitality Homes.

America’s Tooth Fairy Smile Drive
ASDA’s Smile Share Care is raising donations for the America’s Tooth Fairy Smile Drive. It is an online fundraiser for a nonprofit organization that is trustworthy and positively impacts children in the US (through free access to care, oral health care kits, etc.) They have a goal of raising $1000.00 right now, but it can always be increased!
