Smile Squad at Tufts Community Day

TUSDM and the Smile Squad at Tufts Community Day on 10/1. The faculty present was Dr. Karen Wallach. Our booth engaged with many people of all demographics. Particularly, we were interested in promoting oral health to children and did so with fun activities and gifts. We would give guidance to parents to better promote their children’s health.

This event went well! I learned that engaging with the general public about dentistry can be interesting and challenging at times. It is important to understand different backgrounds and viewpoints.

Over 370 toothbrushes were distributed! And special guest Dr. Andre Verdier and Dean Karimbux stopped by the table. The Smile Squad used the puppets to have the children show the team how they brush their teeth and then showed them ways to brush better.
