Tufts Soccer Team Championships
In the heart of Boston’s downtown area in 2022, one prior Navy Lieutenant and now TUSDM orthodontic resident, James Assad, emailed the entire dental school looking for any dental students interested in creating a school based soccer team.
Over two years, and few iterations, the team, “High Speeds” have achieved quite a feat. Led by chairman and captain D17, DG24 James Assad, and vice-captain D27 Mansoor Haider, the squad went back-to-back-to-back to secure their third consecutive championship in the city’s highest tier of competitive 7v7 soccer.Their journey to this year’s championship was a testament to the spirit of camaraderie and determination that defines the team. From last minute comebacks to hard-fought victories, every match showcased the team’s unwavering commitment love for the sport. Following the third title, Boston threw the boys a duckboat parade, but some guys in green stole our thunder…Following the success of “Operation 3peat”, the players hope this not only cements their place in local fútbol lore but that it also inspires other post-graduates to continue the legacy of the High Speeds while pursuing their exceptional academic careers.”
