Tooth Day at Fenway Park!

Fenway Park hosted the 19th annual Tooth Day at Fenway, a community outreach program started by Dr. Heidi Aaronson, D08 – and organized in partnership with the Boston Red Sox, the Tufts Chapter of Alpha Omega, and TUSDM – to raise public awareness of the health risks associated with chewing tobacco.

As Red Sox fans walked through Fenway’s gates, TUSDM faculty, students, and members of Alpha Omega offered free oral-cancer screenings and samples of Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes donated by Tufts.

The Red Sox invited members of the Tooth Day team onto the field to be recognized in a pre-game ceremony, including Dr. Aaronson; Dr. Janis Moriarty, D94; Dr. Paul Trombly, D85, associate professor for the Department of Comprehensive Care; Dr. Brett Kessler, president-elect of the American Dental Associated; Ryley Bennett, D25, vice president of the Tufts chapter of Alpha Omega; and Hubert Park, D11, president of the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association (TUDAA). Also present in the stands was Red Sox legend, Dr. Jim Lonborg, D83.

Dean Karimbux thanked everyone who participated in Tooth Day at Fenway for their continued engagement and advocacy throughout the community.
