Chinatown Night Out!

On August 6th, Tai Tung Village became a vibrant hub of activity as community members gathered for an evening filled with learning opportunities from local businesses and organizations, music, dancing, entertainment, and food. 

Tufts Dental hosted a shared table with Tufts Medicine where volunteers distributed 200 toothbrushes for adults and children, along with 150 tubes of toothpaste. The volunteers created an interactive experience by leading oral health games and using puppets to demonstrate proper brushing techniques to children. They also handed out stickers, making the experience both fun and educational! Dr. Jake Chen (TUSDM faculty), Samira Ahmed (D27), Katrina Benjamin (D27), Yenna Chu (D27), Isabelle Dost (D28), Kevin Cloud (D28), and Lauren Salloum (D28) were the volunteers in attendance. 

Later in the evening, the volunteers had the opportunity to meet Mayor Michelle Wu and other community leaders of the Boston area. Chinatown Night Out was a wonderful event allowing for community building and collaboration. The participation of Tufts Dental added great value to the event, leaving a positive impact on the Chinatown community!
