Dr. Cummins receives NDA’s New Dentists 40 under 40 Award
Last month, the National Dental Association (NDA) chose Dr. Jason Cummins, D22, a clinical instructor for the Department of Public Health & Community Service, as a recipient for their New Dentists 40 Under 40 Award in recognition of his dedication to dentistry, education, and service.
ABOUT DR. CUMMINS: Cummins enrolled at TUSDM in 2017 after graduating with a BS in biochemistry from Claflin University.
As a dental student, he took on leadership roles by joining the curriculum committee and becoming a teaching assistant in both the classroom and clinic.
Cummins earned the Senior Student National Dental Association (SNDA) Award and the Joseph R. Evans Endowed Prize in Clinical Operative Dentistry and was made a member of the Honos Civicus Society and the Robert R. Andrews Research Honor Society.
Today, as a part-time faculty member, Cummins collaborates with the Office of Admissions on student-based efforts concerning outreach, recruitment, and retention.
He is the director of special events at the non-profit organization Increasing Diversity in Dentistry (IDID). Cummins is a general dentist at the Dimock Center in Roxbury, and a member of the Massachusetts Dental Association (MDA) and the Academy of General Dentistry.
