Bracelets for Hope – A JumboVote Event
With less than two weeks until election day, JumboVote has been busy on the Boston Campus! The organizers hosted an event with the Office of Student Wellness, Bracelets for Hope, where pastries from Josie’s Bakery and bracelet making material were available for Boston campus students! The bracelets were a physical reminder to take care of yourself during this election season. Many students registered to vote or were already registered in their home states! Then JumboVote hosted another table over the lunch hour, passing out caramel apple suckers (many of the dental students promised to immediately brush their teeth after) and having a community JamBoard for peers to leave notes about the upcoming election for everyone to read! Overall excitement seems to be high on the Boston campus for the upcoming election!
Within the Dental school outside of Merrit Lecture Hall, students can also check their deadlines for absentee ballot and mail in voting on our bulletin board!
Next week, JumboVote will be hosting another event with the Office of Student Wellness at their wellness check-in with the Humanist Chaplain. Boston health campus students will be invited to write on a paper that can be dissolved in water, in an attempt to put feelings down on paper and wash them away! There will also be a place to share thoughts with others if desired! The goal of this event is to create a space a week prior to the election to write down fears, thoughts, worries, hopes, joys, etc. and share or dissolve the paper in water!
And on election day, JumboVote will be celebrating on the Boston campus with an event called Holey-Moley it’s Election Day with Canolis, Guacamole and chips, and Vote stickers! More details coming soon.
