Each year, approximately about 20+ graduating TUSDM students are awarded the Honos Civicus award for their contribution to Community Service during their time at Tufts.  These students are inducted into the Honos Civius Society along with students from the other graduate schools. There is a ceremony in May to toast the recipients!  

This is a self-nomination process and below is the link to the application.

ABOUT HONOS CIVICUS

Honos Civicus at Tufts University: Launched by Tisch College in 2009, the Honos Civicus Society selects and acknowledges graduating students who engaged in meaningful service and leadership activities during their time at Tufts. Available to undergraduates and graduates at all Tufts schools, Honos Civicus provides an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on a Tufts education’s foundational commitment to social impact and to join a network of engaged alumni who share and acted on that commitment.

Honos Civicus at TUSDM: Honos Civicus at TUSDM celebrates and publicly recognizes graduating students who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service and civic engagement during their studies at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

Eligibility: Dental students who wish to apply to Honos Civicus must have:

• Demonstrated commitment to public service and civic engagement beyond the minimum expected for degree requirements
• Demonstrated leadership and dedication within community service projects
• An outstanding record of professionalism and ethical behavior
• Good academic and professional standing

The benefits of membership in the Honos Civicus Society include:

•        Recognition at a special ceremony of Class of 2025 Tufts Health Sciences Graduate students accepted into the Honos Civicus Society

•        Recognition at graduation, with a notation in the commencement program and an Honos Civicus pin for the commencement gown

•        Features on the Tisch College website and other Tufts University publications

•        Membership in the Honos Civicus alumni group, an alumni network of civically active health professionals
