Embrace(let) the Love: QDC Kicks Off the Year
The Queer Dental Collective (QDC) at TUSDM launched the semester with their first general meeting, themed “Embrace(let) the Love!” Over donuts and handmade friendship bracelets, students came together to celebrate community and connection.
At this year’s kickoff meeting we were excited to see an especially strong turnout of students from the 2029 class, setting the stage for an engaging and inspiring 2025–2026 academic year. The QDC team shared their mission to build an inclusive and empowering community for queer dental students—celebrating queer identity, fostering equity, and advancing knowledge of oral health outcomes within the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Attendees also got a sneak peek at QDC’s upcoming plans, including social gatherings to foster connection and belonging, internal education sessions focused on advocacy and compassionate, evidence-based care, and collaborations with other student groups to expand visibility and impact.
Weren’t able to make it to the kickoff meeting but want to get involved with QDC? Keep an eye out for our upcoming events, and don’t forget to stop by the QDC table at the Student Activities Fair to learn more about the club and join our E-list. All are welcome—we’d love to have you join us as we continue to grow our community this year!
