SNDA & Sickle Cell Awareness Walk
This past weekend, Tufts SNDA had the privilege of participating in the Sickle Cell Awareness Walk — a meaningful event bringing together community, education, and advocacy. Our chapter hosted an interactive table where we shared valuable oral health education with children and adults, using fun games and demonstrations to make learning engaging and accessible for all ages.
We also distributed free dental hygiene kits to families, reinforcing our commitment to making preventive care tools more readily available in the community. Beyond toothbrushes and floss, we emphasized the importance of consistent oral hygiene and how it can positively impact overall health — especially for individuals living with chronic conditions like sickle cell disease, which can have unique effects on oral health.
