D28 Pink Ribbon Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our TUSDM community came together to show support for those affected by breast cancer in a meaningful way. Earlier this month, the D28s sold pink ribbon pins for $1 each, encouraging everyone to wear them on October 3rd and throughout the rest of the month to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with patients, survivors, and loved ones.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our TUSDM classmates and faculty, who raised a total of $316 through the ribbon sale! All proceeds went toward purchasing cozy comfort items for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment at the Boston Hope Lodge. With the funds raised, TUSDM was able to purchase 11 teddy bears and 120 pairs of fuzzy socks.

D28 Community Service Chairs, Isabelle Dost and Chaelin Hong, personally delivered the donations to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Boston on October 22. Hope Lodge provides free lodging and support for cancer patients and their caregivers who travel to Boston for treatment.

Thank you again to everyone who participated, donated, and wore their pink ribbons in solidarity. Your compassion and enthusiasm helped make this initiative a HUGE success.
