Introducing: HumanKind @ TUSDM
Every person here at Tufts Dental has a story. Each story being a unique journey shaped by purpose, challenges, growth, and connection.
HumanKind @ TUSDM is a new initiative led by Yenna Chu (D27) and Nancy Marks dedicated to celebrating and strengthening the human side of dentistry through storytelling, reflection, and community.
This project will be built around two main pillars:
Humans of TUSDM
A storytelling series that highlights the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who make up our connected TUSDM community. Each feature shares a glimpse into their personal journey, the lessons they’ve learned, and the “why” behind what they do.
Check out our most recent interview featuring Jeancarlos Ferman (D25) here!
Jeancarlos shares how embracing his cultural heritage and leading the Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) have shaped his purpose in dentistry and his commitment to creating space for others in the Hispanic and LatinX community to feel seen, supported, and represented.
HumanKind Conversations
A series of conversations that bring together voices across disciplines to explore the role of self-awareness, communication, and emotional intelligence in both leadership and patient care. This pillar will encourage reflection on how we show up for ourselves and others and how practicing with empathy and intention can transform the way we connect, lead, and heal.
