A Holiday Fundraiser Supporting Our International Student Community
This holiday season, the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine is delighted to introduce Handmade Tufts Jumbo Soap—a student-driven fundraising initiative created to support community-focused projects led by our international students. Blending collaboration, creativity, and purpose, this fundraiser offers the Tufts community a meaningful opportunity to give back while enjoying a beautifully crafted seasonal gift.
Thoughtfully designed with an emphasis on wellness and mindfulness, the Handmade Tufts Jumbo Soap is made from natural glycerin and infused with a light apple scent. Its unique Tufts-inspired design subtly unites Jumbo, the university’s iconic elephant, with a molar, symbolizing pride in both our institutional heritage and the profession of dental medicine. Elegant in its simplicity, it makes a warm, heartfelt gift for colleagues, classmates, family, and friends.
At its core, this initiative serves as a dedicated fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting programs and activities that enhance the experience of international students at TUSDM. The project reflects Tufts’ continued commitment to fostering inclusion, resilience, and service-driven leadership. Every bar purchased directly contributes to these efforts while offering supporters a handcrafted product made with care and intention.
Each soap bar comes ready for easy gifting, inviting the Tufts community to share a thoughtful gesture during the holiday season while uplifting the work of our student leaders.
This project is led by Dr. Ronald Perry, with IS27 coordination by Anamary Cruz Rodríguez. The Handmade Tufts Jumbo Soap fundraiser was developed through the collaboration of Paola Iafrate (design, label development, and production assistance), Shiva Tabatabaei (creative support), Kola Bharadwaj (branding and compliance guidance), and Volodymir Kachmar (marketing outreach).
