Tufts Pre-College Program: Mini Dental School: Explorations in Dental Medicine: A Pre-College Program to expand students’ knowledge of the dental profession.
2026 Applications are now open for commuter and residential options.
Tufts’ Mini Dental School: Explorations in Dental Medicine is an immersive journey designed to introduce high school students to the exciting world of dentistry. Participants will delve into various dental specialties as well as gain important knowledge about human anatomy with a particular emphasis on the oral cavity. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to actively engage in procedures such as cavity fillings, plaque removal, and suturing, all under the guidance of experienced professionals.
In addition to clinical skills, students will explore the latest advancements in dental technology and review real-life patient cases, offering insights into how oral health connects to overall well-being. The program culminates in a capstone project where students apply their newfound knowledge to present innovative solutions or ideas in oral healthcare. With a blend of interactive workshops, educational sessions, and practical experiences, this program provides an engaging platform for students to explore their passion for dentistry and healthcare, inspiring them to consider future careers in the field.
