Boston’s House of Sufism Seeking Volunteers!

Boston’s House of Sufism is looking for volunteers to assist with a local hunger and homelessness initiative. The group takes a flexible, multi-faceted approach to addressing these issues, including distributing excess food from bakeries and grocery stores directly to shelter residents, organizing to raise money and donations for specific requests, and serving a weekly home-cooked meal at a homeless shelter.

The House of Sufism has worked with Boston shelters for several years, including the Pine Street Inn, Rosie’s Place, and St. Francis House. Recently, they’ve have developed a relationship with Boston’s only all-youth shelter, Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Serving with the House of Sufism is a unique opportunity to work on the ground with local shelter residents in a warm and informal setting. Volunteers are welcomed to join at whatever capacity best suits them, whether for several hours a week or one Sunday afternoon a month.
