National HDA Annual Meeting at Fort Lee, New Jersey!
Tufts faculty, alumni, and students attended the annual HDA Meeting at Fort Lee, New Jersey this weekend. This two-day conference consisted of CE presentations, mentor and mentee interactions, and student research presentations. Our very own Gabriel Perez won 2nd place in the Student Poster Presentation. He presented his research on “The Effects of Health Disparities on Herd Immunity Against COVID-19 in the USA: A Systemic Literature Review.” His faculty mentor was Dr. Aidee Nieto-Herman and his co-investigator was Mikaelle Williams. We congratulate you all! Dr. Aidee Nieto-Herman is the founder of Tufts HDA and a past president of National HDA and Massachusetts HDA. She, among Dr. Merelyn Hong, an assistant professor in comprehensive care, and Dr. Martha Forero, an assistant professor in public health and community service, were all in attendance at the HDA annual meeting. Students Marely Estrada Toledo, Tufts HDA President, and Diana Alberich, Tufts HDA Social Media Coordinator were also in attendance. Can’t wait for next year’s annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas!
