Parent of Color Association

About

To provide an inclusively supported environment for full time student dentists who are parents of color.  We aim to foster a strong network via, mentorship, resources, webinars and events to aid in a successful and equally rewarding dental experience.

We hope to achieve this through four dynamic pillars that serve as the blueprint of the association: mentorship, seminar’s, resources, and events.MENTORSHIP:   Our mentorship program creates a direct line of communication between students who have shared like experiences that will aid in optimal student success.

SEMINARS: Inclusive platforms narrating and guiding the experience of students and dentists of color through educational experience. We will learn how to establish a healthy school life balance, network, create long lasting relationships, and to gain foundational advice on life after dental school.

RESOURCES:  Our goal is to ensure parents have the information they need to create a stable and comfortable life for their children as they matriculate through dental school, supported by the resources we offer. Be it academic, governmental or professional.

EVENTS: Functions will be held for both children and parents, allowing the children to have a positive and memorable shared experience. Establishing space for our children to also create lifelong friendships and social support.

Ultimately, our organization will foster a more inclusive environment for parents of color and their children to thrive.
