| Basic Science Research: A variety of equipment for in-vitro research is available in the Dr. J Murray Gavel Center (DHS833). Contact Mona Patel with any questions. Clinical Research: The 14th floor Clinical Research Center has 7 fully-equipped dental bays for clinical research. Contact Joseph Cimmino with any questions. | Updated Mask Guidance |
| With the level of respiratory viruses in our community decreasing, masks will only be required in operatories during clinical care, effective immediately. Masks will no longer be required in other settings. The prevalence of respiratory illnesses will continued to be monitored, and guidance will be adjusted accordingly. In accordance with MA Department of Public Health, the current isolation guidelines for those who contract Covid-19 will remain unchanged and can be found HERE. All related leave policies remain in effect and questions can be directed to leaves@tufts.edu |

| Considering taking time to get research training in your chosen specialty? Apply for Tufts CTSI’s T32 Fellowship Program. This prestigious, NIH-funded program: Leads to a Certificate (one to two years), MS (two years), or PhD in Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) with training in study design, biostatistics, and epidemiology, offers a superb research training environment with mentorship by clinical experts in your specialty and nationally known experts in clinical research, provides ample opportunity for publication. Includes a stipend and full tuition for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences CTS Program. Starts July 1, 2024. | AADOCR Boston Section Spring Meeting |
| The AADOCR Boston Section Spring Meeting will take place in person Tuesday, May 7th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the ADA Forsyth Institute 245 First Street, Cambridge, MA 02142 17th floor, Seminar room. The meeting will include poster presentations by students and postdoctoral fellows. | 1) NIDCR Mentoring Network to Promote a Diverse Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research Workforce *LIMITED SUBMISSION About: The NIH Research Education Program (UE5) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this UE5 program is to support educational activities that encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in research. | 2) Tufts Springboard About: Tufts Springboard is an intramural grant program sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR), and Tufts Medicine. The goal of Tufts Springboard is to stimulate high impact research, scholarship and educational initiatives that have an explicit plan leading to extramural funding or other outcomes that influence research, scholarship, educational outcomes, and/or policy. Special consideration will be given to research, scholarship, and educational projects that focus on racial inequities and/or promoting anti-racist interventions in keeping with the University’s and Tufts Medicine’s commitment to be an anti-racist institutions. | 3) Tufts Initiative on Substance Use and Addiction (TISUA) About: In response to the nationwide crisis, TISUA is committed to supporting innovative programs aimed at understanding, preventing, and treating addiction and substance use, as well as related morbidity and mortality. Funded by Tufts University, TISUA provides a platform for researchers, scholars, and artists to develop transformative ideas in this field. | 4) Coverys- The General Grant Program About: Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation, Inc. accepts and considers requests for grant funding from organizations pursuing innovative projects and solutions. Please note the Foundation has a strong preference to fund innovative projects that support healthcare in the communities served by Coverys policyholders. | 5) American Academy of Periodontology Foundation- Tarrson Fellowship About: The fellowship is a $30,000 award ($10,000 per year, for up to 3 years) for periodontists pursuing academic careers. The award is not intended to replace support that would normally have been provided by the recipient’s institution. Annual payments shall not be made unless evidence of continued teaching as described in the award criteria is provided. Eligibility: Candidates for the Fellowship must be either a full-time faculty member at the instructor or assistant level or a part-time faculty member. The candidate must be affiliated for 10 years or less with a degree-granting institution, and their career goal must be teaching and research in periodontology. | 6) Delta Dental Oral Health Diversity Fund About: Launched in 2023, the Delta Dental Oral Health Diversity Fund invests up to $1 million annually in comprehensive solutions, innovative pilots, and scalable models that inspire school-aged children from historically underrepresented groups to pursue a career in oral health. The Fund invites ideas that respond to one or more of the following questions: – How will you address the lack of awareness of oral health workforce careers in historically underrepresented groups? – How will you increase the supply of diverse candidates for oral health workforce careers? – How will you address the obstacles faced by those from historically underrepresented communities in pursuing oral health careers?
