Project Linus Knitting Club
D’29 Service Chairs Shivani Merchia and Mariah King organized this event to teach their peers how to knit, with the goal of creating blankets for the Boston chapter of Project Linus. Project Linus provides handmade blankets to hospitalized babies and children, grounded in the belief that the love and care put into each blanket offers comfort, strength, and resilience. A total of 13 students attended the session, and by the end of the hour, everyone was actively knitting. Participants worked on individual squares that will eventually be sewn together into full blankets, with three students completing their first square during the initial session and beginning a second. This gathering marked the first official meeting of the knitting club, which plans to continue meeting monthly to complete as many blankets as possible. The event was a meaningful opportunity to learn a new skill while contributing positively to the community through a shared service initiative.
Thank you to all students who helped coordinate and participated in giving back to the community!
