About

The Alpha Omega International Dental Society is the oldest international dental organization. Alpha Omega’s mission statement is to offer dentists, oral health professionals and students a welcoming fraternal community that honors the organization’s Judaic heritage, provides opportunities to attain professional excellence and promotes access to oral health care for all. Alpha Omega is an inclusive organization that welcomes people from all cultural backgrounds but our Mission, Vision, and Values are guided by our three tenets of professionalism, fraternalism and commitment to Judaic values.

Events

Pizza with the People – Alpha Omega hosts monthly luncheons for various groups of staff in the Tufts Dental community.
Tooth day at Fenway – Alpha Omega hosts an annual event at Fenway about the importance of oral health and offers free oral screenings to the attendees of the game.
Apples and Honey – This is an event Alpha Omega hosts to recognize the Jewish New Year, known as Rosh Hashana. To celebrate the new year, apples are dipped in sweet honey to symbolize a sweet new year.
Community Food/Toy Drives – One of Alpha Omega’s principles is “Tikkun Olam” which translates to “repair an ailing world”. Alpha Omega strives to support local food shelters surrounding the Tufts Dental Community. In addition, we host a toy drive during the holiday season to help bring joy to those less fortunate.
Mission Trip – Each summer, Alpha Omega goes to an underserved area outside of the United States (in the past we have gone to the Dominican Republic) to provide dentist treatment to these populations.
There are many more events that Alpha Omega has scheduled – Halloween pumpkin carving, end of semester holiday party, purim party, raffles, mixers with Alpha Omega chapters throughout New England, etc.
Being a member of Alpha Omega gives you access to events across the globe including CE opportunities and conferences that Alpha Omega International plans, along with access to their international mentorship program and much more!
