Hate and Free Speech (Dialogue and Action in an Age of Divides)

January 29 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Tufts University, University of Massachusetts, and Wellesley College are pleased to announce a panel series on Dialogue & Action in an Age of Divides. The series features conversations among colleagues from across the universities in the spirit of tackling difficult issues and modeling constructive dialogue. Each university will offer an opportunity for students to gather in facilitated conversation in person soon after each panel livestream. You are invited to engage with the first panel on Hate and Free Speech. The moderator and four panelists discuss the significance of free speech, and its limitations, in the context of controversies over the ways in which speech can relate to Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other identity-based racisms.  Students are invited to watch the livestream and stay for post-panel conversation over dinner. Join Tufts faculty and staff for a post-panel conversation. Complimentary dinner will be provided.
