Rohini Roy (she/her)
Co-chair
Rohini is a 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on gender and intersectional analysis as well as development. Prior to Fletcher, Rohini spent four years working in the development consulting space in India as part of EY’s agriculture and livelihoods team. As part of this role, she worked with local and national governments, IFIs, and multilateral organizations as a gender expert on social development projects in the agricultural sector. Currently Rohini’s research focuses on urban poverty in the “two-thirds world,” specifically on experiences of gender and sexual minorities within this landscape. She also works with an early-stage local non-profit in the Boston area as the Strategy Development Associate. Rohini holds a B.A. in War Studies and History from King’s College London.
Christine Munson (she/her)
Co-chair
Christine is a 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on gender and intersectional analysis, human security, and humanitarian affairs. During her time at Fletcher so far, Christine has worked as a research fellow for the Fletcher School Afghan Task Force and interned with the International Legal Foundation through Harvard Law and International Development Society, Currently she is the Women, Peace, and Security intern at the International Peace Institute in New York. Christine holds a BA in International Studies with a Human Rights concentration from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Mai Nagabayashi (she/her)
Operations Chair
Mai is a 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School, focusing on international development and human security. Prior to Fletcher, Mai worked in workforce development at a community health center in Lowell, MA, to reestablish community and academic partnerships in expanding diverse hiring initiatives to meet patients’ needs. Most recently, she served as a Legislative Aid to State Representative Vanna Howard in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Mai holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Massachusetts Lowell as well as an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Global Studies Concentration from Middlesex Community College in Bedford, MA.
Aubrey Hartnett-Hayes (she/her)
Finance & Community Relations Chair
Aubrey is 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher school with a focus on gender and intersectional analysis, human security and humanitarian affairs. Prior to Fletcher, Aubrey worked at International Patient Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Program Manager responsible for over 40 countries. She also taught English at nature schools and camps in Spain, joined a start-up in the in-home child care space, and worked in telehealth. As a volunteer, Aubrey worked on strategic planning for anti-racist work in Boston Public School and church communities. Aubrey holds a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, and a Professional Certificate for Women in Leadership from Cornell University.
Samantha Marinelli (she/her)
Marketing Chair
Sam is a 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on development and international organizations. During her undergraduate years, she partnered with students at Ganesha University to create a business plan for a MFI that provides loans, education, and tools for self-empowerment to women in rural Bali. Sam also interned at the Consortium for Gender, Security, and Human Rights curating research to better understand feminist economies as a movement away from capitalism. During her years leading up to Fletcher, Sam ran operations at Razia’s Ray of Hope, a nonprofit that focuses on providing accessible and comprehensive education to women and girls in Deh’Subz, Afghanistan. Currently, Sam is building on her research from Bali to open her own nonprofit based on the same business plan, while also running the Pride at Fletcher organization. Sam holds a B.A. in International Relations and Economics with a focus on Sustainability from Simmons University in Boston.
Annie Trentham (she/her)
Content Chair
Annie is a 2023 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School focusing on international security and human security. Prior to attending Fletcher, Annie worked extensively on sexual assault on college campuses and Title IX issues at her undergraduate institution. She helped to change her undergrad’s Title IX policy, worked with different campus organizations to implement culture change, and brought Green Dot Bystander Training to campus while also heading a Title IX student liaison. After undergrad, she worked at the Middle East Institute as an Education Program Officer. Annie also volunteered as a clinic escort at health clinics that provided abortion in Kentucky. Annie holds a B.A. in International Studies from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
Vishy Manve (he/they)
Content Chair
Vishal Manve is a 2023 MALD candidate focusing on environment, business, and communications at The Fletcher School. Previously, Vishal has reported on the Indian economy, politics, and disinformation campaigns for international news wire Agence France-Presse and has been a fellow with CIVICUS, Climate Tracker, Splice Newsroom, and CPL. Vishal has been published across The Diplomat, Fair Observer, AFP, Yahoo News, The Daily Beast, Global Voices Online, Open Democracy, International Journalism Festival, and Indian Express. Vishal has been a summer fellow for the Columbia Journalism Lede Program and is interested in how technology can aid clean energy transition in developing economies and the intersection of journalism and technology in mapping climate misinformation campaigns. Vishal holds a Bachelor of Mass Media in Journalism from St. Andrews College in Mumbai.
Megan Siwek (she/her)
Content Chair
Megan is a 2023 MGA candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on international negotiation and conflict resolution. After her undergraduate years, Megan transitioned to the role of Staff Assistant at the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Issue where she advocated for projects aimed at progressing gender equality and child protection while also leading large-scale conferences and international events. During her time at Fletcher, Megan has supported a local advocacy initiative in New Jersey aimed at closing the only women’s prison facility by working with the women and lobbying for their voices to be heard. Currently, she is volunteering at Big Sister Boston, is working as a Project Assistant for the Pedagogy of Play at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is interning at the Vera Institute of Justice on the Jails Decarceration Team. Megan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies with a focus on Human Rights and Transitional Justice from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Emma Bixler (she/her)
Volunteer Chair
Emma is a 2024 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on Gender Theory & Intersectional Analysis and Human Security. Prior to coming to Fletcher, Emma served in the Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa, worked as a field organizer during the 2020 presidential election, and was an executive consultant with Deloitte. Emma holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Communications from SUNY Geneseo.
Aanchal Manuja (she/her)
Volunteer Chair
Aanchal is a 2024 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on Technology and International Security/Human Security. Prior to coming to Fletcher, Aanchal was part of Part of Women’s Development team and One Billion Rising movement within it, worked on a gender project on mapping cities through a gendered lens, worked on gender mandate, specifically sexual violence in wars in the CRRRS think tank. She also has three years of teaching experience with graduate and undergraduate students in diplomacy, IR, Sociology, and political science courses. Aanchal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Miranda House at the University of Delhi and a Masters in Liberal Arts in International Relations from Ashoka University.
Elizabeth Smith (she/her)
Administrations Chair
Elizabeth is a 2024 MALD candidate at the Fletcher School with a focus on Gender Theory & Intersectional Analysis. Prior to coming to Fletcher, Elizabeth was a Fulbright Fellow in Seoul studying the interplay between gender and historical memory and worked in a Tokyo media startup that aimed to share and uplift the diverse stories and perspectives of foreigners living in Japan. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Letters, and Society from the University of Chicago.
