Commander Taylor Kellogg

Commander Taylor Kellogg is a Military Fellow in the International Security Studies Program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. CDR Kellogg entered the Coast Guard in 2006 and has served on six cutters, commanding two of them. Prior to arriving at Fletcher, CDR Kellogg served two years at the White House as the President’s Military Aide.

CDR Kellogg’s operational background in the Coast Guard is focused on law enforcement and defense missions around the world mainly contesting counter-drug and illegal maritime migration.

In 2021, CDR Kellogg deployed on USCGC HAMILTON (WMSL 753) to the Black Sea, bolstering relations with NATO and Ukraine prior to hostilities with Russia. He’s also served on the U.S. Navy Commander Task Force Six-Five / Destroyer Squadron 60 staff in Naples, Italy overseeing mission operations for U.S. Navy ships deployed to Africa and Europe. In 2010 he commanded a cutter deployed to the Deepwater Horizon, and commanded a cutter patrolling the north coast of Cuba in a particularly busy period of maritime migration from.

Additionally, from 2018-2020 CDR Kellogg served as the Coast Guard’s Deputy Liaison to the House of Representatives, managing the Coast Guard’s appropriations, hearings, and overall advocacy to Congressional Members and their committees. CDR Kellogg holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Philadelphia University, and a Master of Professional Studies in Human Resource Management from Cornell University. He is a graduate of the Naval War College, non-resident course.

CDR Kellogg is married to Brenda Kellogg and together they have a nine-year-old daughter.
