Lieutenant Colonel Hampton

LTC Hampton commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2004 upon graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point. After completing Airborne and Ranger school at Fort Benning, GA, he reported to the 10th Mountain Division in May 2005. While assigned to 2-22 IN, he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Battalion Scout Platoon Leader, HHC Executive Officer and Battalion Logistics Officer. During this time, he deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

LTC Hampton joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard upon leaving active duty in 2009. He was assigned to the 1-182 IN as the Battalion Logistics Officer and Company Commander. In January 2013, LTC Hampton transitioned to the AGR program to serve as the A/S3 for the 1-101 FA. In 2015 he returned to the 1-182 IN as the Battalion Executive Officer. In August 2017, he reported to the Boston University Army ROTC program as an Assistant Professor of Military Science.

In August 2019, LTC Hampton was reassigned to the 51st Troop Command as the Executive Officer. In this role, he oversaw the daily administration of three Battalions and a Special Forces Company. He took command of the 1-181 IN Battalion in September 2021.

In 2024 as Battalion Commander for the 1-181 IN, LTC Hampton deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While deployed, he served as the Commander of Task Force Badger at Union III, Baghdad, Iraq. His Soldiers executed a broad spectrum of missions, to include supporting Special Operations Forces in Syria, Counter-UAS operations in Erbil, and other missions. The 1-181 IN Battalion returned to the United States in December 2024, after successfully completing various missions throughout multiple countries.

LTC Hampton resides in Boston with his wife and two sons.
