Lt. Col. David Kaczmarek

Lieutenant Colonel David Kaczmarek hails from the state of Ohio. He is a 1999 graduate the Virginia Military Institute and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and is a distinguished military graduate.

Upon graduation he was commissioned as a transportation officer in the U.S. Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Kaczmarek’s first assignment was a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in Korea. Later he served as a deputy support operations officer at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and deployed twice to Iraq. He went on to complete the Civil Affairs Qualification Course in 2008.

As a Civil Affairs Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Kaczmarek served in the 91st Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) as a Team Leader and Special Operations Forces Liaison to the U.S. Ambassador in Bamako, Mali. He then served as the Civil Affairs Officer for the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). In 2010 he deployed to Afghanistan and worked with U.S and Afghan government agencies on conflict stabilization and governing capacity building initiatives.

Lieutenant Colonel Kaczmarek commanded a Civil Affairs company at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and in Afghanistan and later served as a battalion operations officer.

Following a tour in Mons, Belgium as a Civil Military Plans Officer in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Lieutenant Colonel Kaczmarek commanded the 91st Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Bragg and Iraq. His most recent assignment was as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General, 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne).

Lieutenant Colonel Kaczmarek holds a masters degree from the U.S. Naval War College. He is married to the former Jen Pyne of Allentown, Pennsylvania. They have two daughters Sofia (12) and Amelia (10).
