Lieutenant Colonel Mike Hultquist

Lieutenant Colonel Mike Hultquist is a native of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. He commissioned from the University of Delaware’s Army ROTC program as a Distinguished Military Graduate in Aviation in 2003. Mike’s first assignment was with 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, NC, as an OH-58D Platoon Leader.

Mike served in a variety of conventional and special operations units, including combat deployments. His assignments include: OH-58D Platoon Leader, Troop Commander, Operations Officer, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 159th Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, KY; MH-6 Platoon Leader, Operations Officer and Special Mission Unit LNO, 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, KY; Flight Concepts Division; BAO 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; S3 and XO of 2nd Battalion, 158th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; United States Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL; Battalion Commander 3rd Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th ID, Fort Carson, Co. Mike has numerous deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduing Freedom, Operation Resolute Support, along with contingency operations in support of the Global War on Terror.

Mike is currently the ACoS G5/9, United States Army Special Operations Aviation Command, Fort Liberty, NC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Science from Central Michigan University in Leadership. Mike is a graduate of the Aviation Captains Career Course, Fort Rucker, Alabama and the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

His military awards and decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross (1 OLC), Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (3 Campaign Stars), NATO Medal (1 Campaign Star) Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1 OLC), Valorous Unit Citation (1 OLC), Combat Action Badge, Master Army Aviator Badge, Airborne Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Polish Airborne Badge. Mike is qualified in the OH-58 A/C, OH-58D, Bell 407, MH-6M, Mi-17, UH-60A/L and UH-60M.

Mike is married to the former Gloria Ann Faulkner of Greenville, North Carolina. Mike and Gloria have been married for 18 years, they have twin boys (13) Victor and Conar and two Corgi’s Percy and Polly.
