Visit by United Nations Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese

On October 31st, 2023, Fletcher held a discussion with Francesca Albanese, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories.

An Italian specialist in international law, Albanese became Special Rapporteur in 2022, after a decade of work for various United Nations agencies. Her post is based in the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland.

The event was co-hosted by The Murrow Center and The Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies. Ambassador Donald Helfin delivered opening remarks, and Professor Tom Dannenbaum provided commentary. The discussion focused on international law and its application to current events in Gaza and the West Bank.
