Curatorial Collections Intern

The Curatorial Collections Intern is responsible for completing the digitization and cataloging of assigned sections of the Shirley-Eustis House’s permanent archival collection of items and archival documents according to the standards set forth by our Museum. The Curatorial Collections Intern will work with the Executive Director/Curator on assigned portions of the permanent archival collection, to digitize and input/catalogue these pieces using the Museum’s collections management software, PastPerfect. Primary Responsibilities: Catalogues and input/digitizes assigned sections of Museum’s permanent collection, Assists in data migration and clean-up for files, works closely with Executive Director/Curator to develop collections database of archival material and proper handling of archival materials Qualifications: Should be working on a Bachelor’s degree in history, museum studies, library sciences, archival management, or related field or a recent graduate. Must have some knowledge of archival best practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills; knowledge of computer database Microsoft Office Suite and experience scanning various types of photographic material. The ideal candidate will be a team player, technically proficient, ability to work independently with close attention to detail, accuracy and production expectations.
