Description:
Title: Creative Services/Graphic Design Intern – Summer 2016
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Creative Services Manager
Type of Internship: Part-time internship; flexible schedule

The Creative Services/Graphic Design intern will work with the museum’s Marketing staff in support of the department’s creative projects and design needs. This internship will involve a good deal of hands-on design work as well as file organization. There are opportunities for contributing ideas about branding and design, including collateral, advertising, direct mail and email.

Key Components and Essential Functions of this role include:

  • Help maintain and organize image database
  • Help execute fast turn signage needs for various museum functions and activities
  • Assist with image research for reference
  • Assist with creating collateral for exhibition openings and special events as needed
  • Help create templates and presentations for internal usage
  • Proof reading of print and web materials

Other

  • Assist with assembling materials across departments for creative projects
  • Assist in reviewing proofs for print production
  • Help with competitive analysis and compiling sample library
  • Organizational tasks

Salary: Unpaid internship

Qualifications:

  • A love for art and a passion for the Gardner Museum
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership over projects and work proactively
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and contribute to the department and Museum as a whole
  • Demonstrated ability to create beautiful communication materials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Great eye for design and layout

Description:
The Historic Winslow House Association in Marshfield, MA is seeking qualified candidates for an Education internship for 2016.

Description

Working with the museum’s newly formed Education Committee, the intern will be instrumental in helping to plan, develop and present a project to augment the Winslow House’s current educational offerings. This project will focus on Third Grade Social Studies and American History.

Qualifications:

  • Availability for the Spring, Summer, and/or Fall 2016 semesters
  • Applicants must currently be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate studying Education or American History.
  • Applicants must commit to at least ten (10) hours per week for the term of their internship; work will be undertaken on site at the Historic Winslow House, under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Applicants should have basic computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a background in historical research or elementary education, an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and enjoy interacting with the public.
  • Experience working with K-12 audiences is a plus.
  • Selected applicants will undergo a background check before beginning their internship.
  • Education internships are unpaid. We are happy to help applicants arrange credit with their college or university.
