Kirsten Krause (she/her)

Vice President

“Hi all! I’m Kirsten and I’m your SAVMA Chapter Vice President! I’m a V26 originally from Coventry, CT and I did both a Bachelors and Masters in Animal Science at the University of Connecticut before coming to Tufts. I grew up on a small hobby farm and showing livestock in 4-H, so I’ve always had a love for large animals and that love has carried over into my veterinary interests as well! My future goal is to work at a large animal ambulatory practice – small ruminants are my favorite, but I also love dairy herd health and calf management, as well as equine preventative medicine, and hope to see a combination of these things in practice!”

  • Pets
    • Lionel (cat)
    • Noodle, Tomato, Alfredo (betta fish and two snails)

Natalie McCarthy (she/her, they/them)

Incoming Vice President 2025

“Hi I’m Natalie! I’m a V28, and my dream is work in many different countries with many different species. My primary veterinary interests are zoo medicine and exotics, but I want to try everything before I graduate. Outside of vet school, I play rugby and ice hockey! If you talk to me long enough, you will inevitably hear how my most recent game went. I also love to bake.”

  • Pets
    • No animals of my own but more than happy to pet everyone else’s!
