What is the NAVLE?
The North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) is required for licensure to practice veterinary medicine the United States and Canada. It consists of 360 multiple-choice questions. More information about the NAVLE—including scheduling, retake policy, and testing accommodations—can be found here.
How is SAVMA involved?
Our Professional Development Committee (PDC) is responsible for organizing and coordinating NAVLE review sessions for students in the Fall of their fourth year.
PDC is also in charge of the NAVLE Review Materials page on Canvas, which contains recordings of the NAVLE review sessions, summary tables, overviews of the different body systems, and other helpful resources for studying.

Scholarships for NAVLE Preparation Materials
National SAVMA’s Education and Professional Development Committee offers a NAVLE Study Package Grant, which allows SAVMA members to apply for up to $250 reimbursement for NAVLE study materials.
