Tufts Soft Matter Theory Hosts the 51st New England Complex Fluids Group!

We were delighted today to welcome members of the New England Complex Fluids Group for the 51st meeting, which is being held for the first time at Tufts. Over 100 researchers—graduate students, postdocs and faculty—attended from all over the New England area as well as a few guests from further away.

The day conference consisted of five invited talks:

Thomas Coolbaugh, ExxonMobil“The Value of Dispersants for Offshore Oil Spill Response”

Cristian Staii, Tufts University, “Mapping the cytoskeletal dynamics of neuronal cells via combined high resolution Atomic Force Microscopy and Fluorescence Microscopy”

Patrick Spicer, Proctor & Gamble “Design of Droplet Structure and Shape for Enhanced Delivery”

Matt Hancock, Broad Institute, “Fluid Stripes and Shaped Droplets for Gradient and Patterning Applications”

Christian Holtze, BASF “Microfluidics – a novel tool for formulation”

IMG_0349We also had two sessions of the popular Soundbites, featuring short 4 minute talks by 26 researchers about their most recent results.

Thanks everyone for coming and making this meeting such a success!
