Skinner, New England’s leading auction house for antiques & fine art, seeks a specialist in modern and contemporary art to assist with evaluation, appraisal, research, and cataloging of fine artwork.  The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of 20th and 21st century art and the current auction market as well as a strong knowledge of Western art from various cultures and periods.
Responsibilities:
Procurement of property
Encourage new business opportunities especially in the expansion of Skinner’s markets
Appraise, research, authenticate, and catalog works of art for auction
Liaise with consignors and buyers regarding all aspects of the auction process
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience
Master’s degree in art history or equivalent market experience
Ability to work both independently and with a team with flexibility and creativity in a fast paced environment
Strong communication skills
USPAP certification preferred
