Discourse ethics

Apart from any laws or organization’s rules that may regulate speech, people must also decide which kinds of speech are valuable in each setting and situation and how they ought to respond to others’ speech. This topic raises questions about attitudes and norms, such as civility, tolerance, compassion, and responsiveness.
