Welcome International Dental Class of 2027!
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the International Dental Class of 2027 at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM)! Thirty-six talented and accomplished dentists from across the globe will officially begin their journey with us during orientation on December 9, 2025.
This extraordinary cohort represents 23 countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, USA, Iraq, Syria Arab Republic, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, India, Nicaragua, Jordan, Venezuela, Ukraine, Albania, Iran, China, Peru, State of Palestine, Korea, Nigeria, Mexico, and Ecuador. Their diversity, expertise, and global perspectives will undoubtedly enrich the Tufts community.
The Dental International Student (DIS) Program at TUSDM, established in 1956, provides foreign-trained dentists with the education and clinical experience required to practice dentistry in the United States. Our rigorous D.M.D. curriculum is designed to prepare students for success in an ever-evolving profession.
A Journey of Integration and Growth
The journey begins with an intensive introduction to the U.S. dental system and practices. Students then join their third-year D.M.D. colleagues to participate fully in all aspects of the third and fourth-year curriculum. This includes clinical practice in our state-of-the-art oral health clinics, as well as community outreach programs that serve diverse populations.
At TUSDM, we emphasize collaborative care through our commitment to inter-professional education. Students will have opportunities to develop teamwork skills and work alongside colleagues in various health care and research settings. This approach not only enhances learning but also improves patient outcomes—a cornerstone of modern health care.
