Community Servings Soup Kitchen Volunteering – D27 Community Service Event

On Monday, November 25th, 2024, the D27 Community Service Chairs Khushi Dave and Katrina Benjamin helped coordinate another volunteering shift for the D27 class at Community Servings Soup Kitchen in Jamaica Plain after successfully previously doing this during their first year of dental school as well!

The D27 class worked together as a team with other volunteers where they helped package warm meals, portion stews, and different food items and labels as well. These meal packages were nutritionally made for Massachusetts community members living with different chronic illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, and underserved populations.

It was a great opportunity where D27s got a chance to give back to the community as at the start of their shift they learned about community members from underserved populations and those living with chronic illnesses and how these medically tailored meals can help make a difference in so many people’s lives. By everyone coming together to help, not only was it superfun but very educational and rewarding!

Great job D27 class!
