Volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern MA
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern MA (BBBSEM) has a great opportunity for Tufts Dental Students
BBBSEM are in need of volunteers at the Josiah Quincy Elementary School mentoring program. Serving as a “Big Brother” or “Big Sister,” volunteers mentor an elementary school student during lunch and recess, once per week, for about an hour. Volunteers can choose which day works best for them. This would be a wonderful option for the Dental Students because of the flexibility and convenience of the location- Josiah Quincy is right across the street from the main campus!
Time spent together is based around creating a relationship and a consistent presence for the kids. Matches can enjoy lunch together, chat about each other’s weeks, play games at recess, and overall have fun! Lunch times vary by grade: the earliest time slot being 12:05-12:50, and the latest being 1:45-2:30.
We ask for a commitment of at least one calendar year from our volunteers
HERE is the signup link, and here’s a little more information about the program. Patty is happy to answer any specific questions via email! Patty Thistle
