TWCF webinar

On April 27, 2020, Richard M. Lerner led close to 100 scholars and practitioners from around the world in a webinar entitled: Contemporary Theories in Human Development. The webinar provided an overview of theories of human development from the 19th century to the 21st century, focusing on models using developmental systems and discussing the use of the specificity principle for understanding pathways of individual development across the lifespan.

The webinar was the first of 9 webinars hosted by Templeton World Charity Foundation (TWCF) under its Global Innovations in Character Development (GICD) initiative. In 2018, TWCF launched the GICD to promote character strengths worldwide.

Professor Lerner has been involved with GICD grantees for over a year. He and two of his close colleagues, Dr. Elizabeth Dowling (IARYD) and Dr. Marc Bornstein, have worked as a team to mentor and support GICD grantees in the proposal writing process. The team will continue to support them as they begin to implement and assess the impact of their respective interventions in the coming year.
