Director of Education, The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

The Maritime Aquarium is the second-largest cultural institution in Connecticut.   At a time of institutional renewal, the Aquarium seeks a senior executive to strengthen and grow an already distinguished science education program for students and visitors.  Reporting to the Aquarium President, the Director supervises a department of 4 full-time and 30 part-time marine science and environmental educators  who provide a wide spectrum of programs, including guided aquarium tours, inquiry-based classes and outreach programs, field experiences,  and in-depth, multi-year school partnerships.  Qualifications include a Ph.D. in relevant field, 10 years progressive experience in an informal education setting and demonstrated management, program-building and fundraising skills.  Multi -cultural and multilingual experience a plus.
